Under the Ditra project, the seven-story building meets Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) standards and includes a laboratory block and office wing. A central area connects both sections and supports the building’s functions.

The design team planned for the Ethiopian Public Health Institute’s (EPHI) future growth and examined the building’s lifecycle. They also considered essential biosafety and security systems. This careful planning enables EPHI to maintain the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) and support public health efforts for years to come. The project was completed in collaboration with ZIAS + AE.
